You may have a firm idea of what you would like to do after Year 12 and what career pathway you want to take. Students and parents are encourage to explore the resources available to them via the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rossmoyneshs.wa.edu.au\/forms\/?page_id=4014\">Careers Exploration<\/a> page<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><span style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\"><strong>Course and Careers Information \u2013 Weeks 3 to 8<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td> Parents and students are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the different pathways and courses on offer at Rossmoyne that will best fit the student&#8217;s ability, future career, and further study aspirations using the following resources:\u00a0<br>&#8211; <strong>2026 Year 11 Curriculum Handbook<\/strong> \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rossmoyne.wa.edu.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/2025-Year-11-Curriculum-Handbook.pdf\">Year 11 handbook 2025<\/a> \u00a0(to be updated in Term 2)<br>&#8211; <strong>Learning Areas<\/strong> \u2013 students are encouraged to talk to their teachers about courses specific to their Learning Areas.\u00a0Each of the learning areas has also created a video and further information about each of the courses available at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rossmoyneshs.wa.edu.au\/forms\/?page_id=3998\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Course Information<\/a><br>&#8211; All Year 10 students will attend the<strong> Careers Expo<\/strong> at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on Friday 16 May. Further information and resources for the Expo are found at: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rossmoyneshs.wa.edu.au\/forms\/?page_id=12690\">Careers Expo<\/a><br>&#8211; <strong>VET information<\/strong> \u2013 a parent information evening will be scheduled &#8211; Date TBA. Further details of this will be sent to all parents closer to the date. More information can be found in the course pages at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rossmoyneshs.wa.edu.au\/forms\/?page_id=10136\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Career and Vocational Education<\/a><br>&#8211; A <strong>Senior School Course Expo <\/strong>will be held at the school on Wednesday 18 June for students to gather more information about the courses available at Rossmoyne SHS in Years 11 and 12. This will be an expo style event, held in the Hub, giving students the opportunity to seek information about the courses they are interested in.<br>&#8211; The Schools Curriculum &amp; Standards Authority (SCSA) provide a useful <a href=\"https:\/\/senior-secondary.scsa.wa.edu.au\/further-resources\/year-10-information\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Year 10 Information Handbook<\/a>\u00a0<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong><span style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Year 10 CATs &#8211; Week 5 and 6<\/span><\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Year 10s will sit extended Common Assessment Tasks (CATs) in their MESH subjects in Weeks 6 and 7 of Term 2. Each of the CATs will run for between 90 and 100 minutes, and will impact on two periods. <br>&#8211; <strong>English<\/strong> &#8211; Friday 30 May during Periods 3 and 4<br>&#8211; <strong>Maths<\/strong> &#8211; Tuesday 3 June during Periods 3 and 4<br>&#8211; <strong>HASS<\/strong> &#8211; Wednesday 4 June during Periods 1 and 2<br>&#8211; <strong>Science<\/strong> &#8211; Friday 6 June during Period 1<br>Year 10s will also have extended CATs in Term 4.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><span style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\"><strong>Course Selections \u2013 Week 8<\/strong><\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td> &#8211; <strong>Subject Selections Online<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rossmoyneshs.wa.edu.au\/forms\/protected-content\/year-10-course-counselling\/course-selections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(SSO)<\/a> open for students to make selections.&nbsp;Detailed information will be emailed home to parents and students with a &#8220;How To&#8221; guide made available.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><span style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\"><strong>Course Counselling Interviews \u2013 Weeks 9 and 10&nbsp;<\/strong><\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td> &#8211; Students are invited to attend a <strong>Course Counselling interview<\/strong> with a school Course Counsellor. Parents are welcome to join the interview, by phone or in person.
