This is a time of self-discovery. It is an opportunity for students to learn more about themselves – their strengths and interests, and find new ones along the way. As well as learning about themselves, students will learn about the world of work. Students will investigate jobs of the future and learn more about the rapidly changing world of work. The resources below aim to open students’ eyes to a world of options – so they can discover, explore and get excited about what the future holds for them.

All students will attend the Year 10 Careers Expo at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on Friday 16 May 2025. Further details of times and travel arrangements will be added closer to the date.

Resources for students and parents to look at together:

Prior to Course Counselling at the end of Term 2, students are all encouraged to explore the myfutures website. There is also a parents and carers section of the myfutures website which is a free resource, providing resources to help guide their young person through this career exploration tool.

The Department of Education provides a Career Conversations website to help guide conversations around careers and pathways.

The Jobs & Skills WA website provides Career Planning Support for Parents.

Career Coaching Information for Parents – helpful ideas for parents, published by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA

The Good Universities Guide provides a helpful Careers Guide.

For students unsure of what they want to do post Year 12, visit the TISC Undergraduate Course Search to see all the local courses on offer for ideas.
