Help Forum

This is a help forum.

This is an area intended to help you help yourselves. Part of your mark will be derived from this activity. Here's how it works.

  • If you are having a problem, ask a question here.
  • If you know how to answer the quesiton, put the answer here.

A question should be meaningful and phrased in a way that indicates you have carefully thought about the problem before you asked it. You should indicate clearly in the subject line where you are having the problem.

The answer should be concise and clear and use appropriate language. Your answer should indicate background reasoning.

Your mark will be determined at the end of the course based on the quality of questions you have asked and the quality of answers you have provided.

You can do things like:
  1. Ask a question you know the answer to, but you think its a good question anyways.
  2. Answer a question your friend has asked after someone else has had a chance to answer it.
In short, you can set yourself up for success.

How good is the answer you are giving? Does your answer provide background detail. Have you used appropriate mathematical vocabulary to answer it. How often have you answered a question.
Your answer is cursory only. (eg. the answer is 4). Your vocabulary is informal (it goes up by more every time). You have participated only when absolutely required.
Your answer has some detail, but the background reasoning isn't completely clear. Your vocabulary includes some formal elements. You have participated with some regularity.
