A type of malware known as ransomware called "Wannacrypt" has been circulating the world and is particularly devastating on large networks like Rossmoyne's. Exercise caution opening suspicious email attachments.
Students running Windows 7 or 8.1 must ensure their computers are up to date, and specifically have the March 2017 security update installed. Please check Windows Update and run "check for updates".
Students should not be using Windows XP, Vista or 8 (not 8.1) as these are legacy, unsupported systems. However given the rare circumstances Microsoft have released a patch. See the IT Office if you need help installing it. It is available here:
