The new Jobs Rated Almanac, now in its 27th year, rates 200 jobs from best to worst. It's an American report, with data coming from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, but is largely relevant here in Australia. Note that the "mid-level" incomes are in $US, and are 20-25% higher in $A (also, many incomes in Australia tend to be higher than in the U.S. for the same job).

Jobs are categorized into four "Core Criteria;": Environment, Income, Outlook, and Stress. The best jobs have low scores for Work Environment and Stress, and high scores for Income and Hiring Outlook.
