First, complete the section of the task on Design Principles and Elements, and save your work as task 2 research. You will need to submit this as part of your task.
Task two Design principles- an extract from the task follows: Research principles of design and explain the following Balance, emphasis (contrast and proportion) dominance and rhythm. AND
Design elements - Research elements of design and explain the following: line, shape, texture and colour
Second, You need to find some examples of these elements and principles on the web. You then need to screen capture them (or copy and paste) in order to make them an image file. You can then paste this image into blank PowerPoint slides. Once you have the image in your slide – use the text box, lines, and arrows in PowerPoint to annotate, or explain, the image. Save your work as a .ppt file.
Next: complete the readings for this week so you are ready to complete the task next week.
Finally - Choose a web creation software package - for example iWeb, FrontPage or Dreamweaver.
You need to start learning how to use these packages. You should look for online for tutorials. DO NOT leave this until you start task 4!

These do not need to be on paper hand drawn sketches (you can use a drawing or painint program) If you do use paper - ethier scan your paper and upload it OR drop your work off to Mr haley or Mr Withers
- Include annotated notes on these drafts outlining key design features.
- Relate these design features back to the principals and elements of design you discussed in Task 2.

Week 1 and 2 AIT 1B Start Task One Lesson One and Two: Recommend a computer system for Desktop Publishing.
Go to computer sales store websites and compare at least two computers for sale. Harvey Norman is a great place to start, look for a budget (home) computer and a high end (gaming) computer and download or copy and paste the specifications.
Save this information and include it in your task.
Next: Read the reading: Comparing Computer Systems
Note: Use this reading to guide your writing but do not copy this reading as it is old and the descriptions are out of date. You will need to research each component in your two systems to ensure you have up-to-date information.
Also read the following documents to help you understand the function of the parts that make up a system unit (computer) • Computer peripherals • Computer hardware and memory • Computer networks • Storage and storage media
-

Do: Explain the key system components for each computer and why they need to be included. Dont forget to judge each component on how well it will suit the needs of the business.
Use the web to find out more information about the computer components needed by graphic desginers and desktop publishers
